Newspapers

The J.W. England Library provides access to current news and historical newspaper collections via the ProQuest database. Newspapers can also be found using Primo. The Chronicle of Higher Education and The New York Times are available directly from the publishers.

Searching for Newspapers in Primo

The easiest way to find newspaper content is to search in Primo, the library's discovery system.

To search for newspaper articles:

  • Run a keyword search in the main Primo search bar.
  • Use the filtering menu on the right-hand side to select "Newspaper Articles" under "Resource Type".
  • Refine the search by publication date, availability, and other parameters as desired.

To search for newspapers by title:

  • Navigate to the Journal Search page of Primo.
  • Search for the newspaper of interest by title.
  • When you find the newspaper you're looking for, click on the record to see more information, including our coverage dates and access methods for that newspaper.
